My First Chatroulette Experience

My friend Sean was over visiting and shared with me this very intriguing place where you can video chat with random strangers from all over the world. I couldn't help but dream of the possibilities...meeting strangers from exotic places and catching a glimpse of their lifestyle. What began as such an awesome sounding experience ended up being just a plain out weird (yet still intriguing) game of digital randomness. (Photo on above right are two girls from Hesperia, California.)

First of all, Chatroulette.com is more like an MTV series where a bunch of people "NEXT" you before you even have a chance to say hello. I've never been more rejected in my life! Most of the people on Chatroulette seem to be guys or penises, but occasionally you will come across a small gathering in Brazil, or a dancing Asian boy from Indiana. If they live close enough, they might even try to invite themselves over to your house. (Photo below is a gathering of people in Brazil)

It was a bit awkward at first to speak with random strangers. It feels a bit like standing naked in the street. Mostly there is just the anticipation of finding someone who will actually talk to you. I am left with 1 second glimpses of people's personal spaces yet we didn't even get to exchange names. There are definitely alot of similar personas on ChatRoulette. The most common being of course masturbators, people with masks or towels covering their faces, and those who flip you off. The rarest are the good natured down to earth individuals who are there to learn about other random people from all over the mundo. I have to say that I might be addicted, which is why I've started writing about it here and capturing screen shots to better preserve the experience. Maybe you'll be next? **Click on the Screenshots to see a larger image and read the convos.
